What this result is, and is not
- No scanner certifies compliance or conformance. Manual testing with assistive technologies (keyboard, screen readers, zoom) and testing with disabled people remain necessary, and the results of this tool should feed that work rather than replace it.
- Automated testing detects roughly a third of WCAG failures. It reliably finds machine-checkable defects — missing alternatives, insufficient contrast, unlabelled controls, invalid ARIA — and cannot assess whether alternative text is meaningful, whether headings reflect the document, or whether a custom component is usable by keyboard and screen reader. The remainder requires manual review with assistive technology.
- A check that reported no issue is not a pass. It means one automated rule did not fire — not that the success criterion is met. Many criteria can only be judged by a person.
- This is a readiness and evidence report, not a certification, audit or conformance assessment. Reachcanon is not a conformity assessment body and issues no attestation.
